who we are / main discussions
we are a team of independent artists and activists. in recent years together and individually we’ve been involved in political, social, human rights and art activism, organised festivals and horizontal projects, curated grassroot initiatives and defended civil rights in Russia.
now in Tbilisi all of us are engaged in anti-war initiatives in different ways. we consider it important to establish contact with colleagues, who are continuing resistance in Russia in high-threat environments, under pressure and in risk of repressions.

we also consider it necessary to resist the pro-government narrative of essential hostility and impossibility of cooperation between Russian and Ukrainian citizens. we believe that the goals of civil societies of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus are the same: we want independent and free life, respect for each other’s sovereignty and human rights, recognition of human dignity and freedom of speech. that’s why part of the festival we’ll dedicate to discussion with Ukrainian activists and one of the follow-up events - to discussion with activists from Belarus.

during the festival we’ll also talk with Serbian activists, as they’ve come through similar experience of anti-war campaigns in the aggressor country and had to deal with propaganda and misperceptions of war.

we hope that “co/action” will become a space for consolidation among common goals
we expect to see at the event activists who are involved in any kind of anti-war initiatives (humanitarian, resistance, etc) and people who have anti-war position and want to reflect it deeper or to create new initiative

we are mainly focused on Russian-speaking migrants/refugees in Tbilisi, but some parts will be available online: discussions with Russian, Ukrainian and Serbian activists, workshop on book “Feminists solutions for endind war”, worshop on art activism from Serbian activists, discussion on art activism, presentation of media resistance project

couple of activities will be both in Eng and Ru: discussion with Serbian activists and workshop on art activism in the streets; discussion on art activism probably will be also translated in Eng; other parts supposed to be in Russian, but we are open to your proposals
in order to ensure safety for participants the event is semi-closed and we ask people who we don’t know for recommendations. to get the links to online parts or to come offline, you can write to us via Telegram: t.me/coactionfest, or contact people who organise or perform in the event.
